Strip Seal Expansion Joint a mechanical device designed to seal an expanded gap formed by two adjacent road slab sections by providing continuous support for vehicles traversing the gap while allowing the road slab sections to move as needed in reaction to temperature variations. The Strip Seal Expansion Joint system is made consisting of an elastomeric gland that is mechanically locked between two steel edge elements to provide a superior watertight sealing system. The neoprene seal on these Expansion Joints can be installed either before or after the steel shapes are fastened to the superstructure. Machined Steel shapes improve seal insatiability while lowering the manufacturing tolerances associated with complete Steel shape fabrication.
